BYRD FLIES OVER SEC
Ole Miss sophomore forward Nikki Byrd is the Player of the Week in the Southeastern Conference. She averaged a double-double of 12.5 ppg. and 11.4 rpg. in two victories. In an upset of top-10 ranked Georgia, Byrd made her first start of the season and scored 13 points and tied her career-best by pulling down 14 rebounds. The win gave Ole Miss its first five-game conference-winning streak since 2007. The win vs. Georgia gave the Rebels it first road win over a ranked opponent since 2002.

TULSA MOVES TO WNBA WEST
The WNBA team formerly known as the Detroit Shock is changing conferences as part of its off-season move to Tulsa. The Shock has always participated in the Eastern Conference while located in Detroit, but will now join the Western Conference. There will now be six teams in each conference. The Tulsa team will keep the name Shock, but will have new team colors of red, black and a golden yellow; and a new logo featuring a lightning bolt through the word Shock and an art deco design around Tulsa.

JENNINGS NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK IN A-10
Xavier guard Special Jennings is this week's Player of the Week in the Atlantic 10 Conference. The junior led the Musketeers to a pair of wins over Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure. She averaged 16.0 ppg., 6.0 apg., and shot 52.9 percent from the floor.

BAYLOR ADDS TRANSFER
Destiny Williams, who began her collegiate career at Illinois this past fall, has transferred to Baylor, and will be eligible to play for the Bears in December of the 2010-11 season. Williams was the Associated Press Michigan Class A Player of the Year in 2008, and the Gatorade Michigan Player of the Year as a senior. She was also a McDonald's All-American. She will have three years of eligibility remaining at Baylor.

MOORE WINS SECOND BIG EAST WEEKLY AWARD
Maya Moore of UConn won her second Big East Player of the Week award for this season in leading the Huskies to road wins over nationally-ranked Duke and Villanova. The junior forward averaged 22.0 ppg., 5.5 rpg. and 4.0 apg. for the two contests. She shot 61.5 percent from the field, including nine 3-pt. field goals. She also handed out eight assists. Against Villanova, she scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 23 minutes on the court.

HALL OF FAMER LIN DUNN
Indiana Fever head coach Lin Dunn has been named as one of 10 female inductees to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame on April 24, 2010. Dunn, who has coached for 39 years, will receive the St. Vincent Silver Medal Award that is given annually for contributions other than as an Indiana high school basketball coach or player. Dunn will also be inducted into the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 19 in Nashville. She was runner-up as WNBA Coach of the Year after leading the Fever to its finest season ever in 2009. Dunn's collegiate 25-year record is 447-257 (.635), including nine seasons at Purdue (1988-96), winning three Big Ten Conference titles and making seven NCAA Tournament appearances.

WRIGHT EARNS ACC HONOR
Senior guard Monica Wright of Virginia is this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week after leading the Lady Cavaliers to a 3-0 slate. The ACC preseason pick as player of the year, Wright scored 27 points vs. Virginia Tech, and then tallied a conference season-high of 39 points at Boston College. She finished the week with a game-high 23 points vs. nationally-ranked Georgia Tech. With a total of 89 points on the week, Wright extended her school record for career points to 2,229, and is eighth in the ACC in career points.

FRANKLIN PIERCE TOPS DIVISION II
Three unbeaten teams top this week's USAToday Division II Coaches' poll. Franklin (NH) Pierce (17-0) is ranked No. 1, followed by University of Indianapolis (19-0). Third is Gannon (PA) College at 20-0, and No. 4 is Michigan Tech (16-1). Rounding out the top five is Emporia (KS) State at 17-1.

GRAY-LAWSON WINS PAC-10 HONORS
Senior guard Alexis Gray-Lawson is this week's Pac-10 Conference Player of the Week. She averaged 33.0 ppg. in leading the Golden Bears to a pair of conference victories. In a double overtime win at Oregon State, Gray-Lawson set a school record of 47 points, the second-most scored in the NCAA Division I this season. It was the third-best offensive performance in the Pac-10 ever. She tied the school record for most free throws made (17) and attempted (20).

WOODEN MID-SEASON REPORT LIST 21 CANDIDATES
The top 21 candidates for the Women's John R. Wooden Award, given to the player of the year, have been announced by The Los Angeles Athletic Club Wooden committee. The list includes last year's winner, junior forward Maya Moore of unbeaten UConn. Teammate Tina Charles, a senior center, was also named, and Stanford was the only other team with two candidates, senior center Jayne Appel and junior forward Kayla Pedersen. The other selections were: Ashley Barlow, Notre Dame; Alysha Clark, Middle Tennessee; Cetera DeGraffenreid, North Carolina; Allyssa DeHaan, Michigan State; Elena Delle Donne, Delaware; Dawn Evans, James Madison; Kelsey Griffin, Nebraska; Brittney Griner, Baylor; Amber Harris, Xavier; Allison Hightower, LSU; Jantel Lavender, Ohio State; Gabriela Marginean, Drexel; Brittany Ray, Rutgers; Shekinna Stricklen, Tennessee; Jasmine Thomas, Duke; Courtney Vandersloot, Gonzaga; and Monica Wright, Virginia.

ADAMS POSTS TRIPLE-DOUBLE TO GARNER HONORS
Danielle Adams, a junior forward/center at Texas A&M, won Big 12 Conference Player of the Week honors. The 6-1 cager posted her triple-double vs. Texas Tech with a game-high 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocked shots that were all career highs. She is only the second Aggie to record a triple double. Adams was 11-of-17 from the floor (64.7 percent) playing a career-best 35 minutes.

WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT NO. 1 IN DIVISION III
Wisconsin-Stevens Point, with a 17-1 record, ranks No. 1 in this week's USAToday Division III Coaches' poll. No. 2 is Guilford (NC) College at 16-1, followed by Washington (MO) University at 14-2. No. 4 is Williams (MA) College (17-1), and No. 5 is Wisconsin-Whitewater (15-2).

NORTHWESTERN CENTER TOPS BIG TEN THIS WEEK
Amy Jaeschke, a junior center at Northwestern, is the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week. It is her second honor this season. Jaeschke scored 17 points in a win over Indiana to reach 1,000 points for her career. She is the ninth Big Ten player to eclipse the 1,000-career mark. She also grabbed nine rebounds, blocked four shots, and handed out three assists. On Sunday, in a win over Iowa, she set a season-high of 30 points while shooting 73.3 percent from the floor. She also recorded eight rebounds, three assists and six blocks. With her second block in the game, she became Northwestern's all-time shot blocker. For the week, she averaged 23.5 ppg. on 63.3 percent shooting, grabbed 8.5 rpg., and recorded 5.0 bpg. and 3.0 apg.
